Remento, a consumer AI startup founded by Charlie Greene, is using automated prompts and transcription tools to help families capture elders’ stories and turn them into printed books linked to original audio and video. The company, inspired by Greene’s personal loss and his mother’s cancer diagnosis, secured a $300,000 Shark Tank investment from Mark Cuban for 10% and has raised $4.3 million to date. While public skepticism of AI remains elevated, Remento and rival Kindred Tales report strong demand for AI-assisted features that streamline interviews and editing; Kindred says adoption of its AI tier rose to 80% after 2025. Backers are betting that AI’s practical utility in preserving personal histories can overcome concerns about job displacement and tech’s broader social costs.
