Apple is reshaping its Mac silicon roadmap, planning a base M6 for entry-level machines this year while deferring higher-end performance upgrades to an AI-focused M7 line in 2027, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The shift aims to bolster on-device AI and graphics capabilities as software demands rise. Separately, Apple instituted mid-cycle price increases across select Macs, iPads and home devices, citing surging memory and storage costs tied to AI data center growth. Evercore ISI called the 17%–25% hikes a surprise that should protect margins but could weigh on demand; the firm kept an Outperform and a $365 target. Apple shares were recently down about 5% to $277.65 in morning trading.
