Intel’s new CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, has enacted significant changes to the company’s leadership structure, according to an internal memo. Tan, who recently took the helm, will now have key chip divisions report directly to him in a move to streamline operations and enhance decision-making amid competitive and operational challenges. Sachin Katti has been promoted to chief technology officer and chief AI officer, overseeing Intel’s strategy and product roadmap in artificial intelligence. The changes, including an expanded role for executive Michelle Johnston Holthaus and a search for a new government affairs head, come as Intel seeks to recover from years of setbacks and compete more effectively against rivals such as Nvidia.
