Employers across the United States are intensifying their search for workers with artificial intelligence expertise as technological adoption accelerates. According to the Brookings Institution, AI-related job postings have soared by over 100% in the past year and have increased an average of 29% annually over the last 15 years, compared to 11% in the broader labor market. While AI positions still represent a small fraction of total job opportunities, they outpace other sectors in growth and tend to command significantly higher salaries. Although concentrated in tech hubs such as Silicon Valley and Seattle, AI jobs are gaining traction in non-traditional locations and across various industries, from marketing and HR to finance. The trend signals both a shift in workplace demands and the evolving definition of what constitutes an ‘AI job’ as businesses prioritize responsible and innovative applications of the technology.
