Accenture is tying senior promotions to regular use of its in-house AI tools and tracking weekly log-ins by some managers, according to an internal email reported by the Financial Times. The consulting giant has trained 550,000 of its 780,000 employees in generative AI and is rolling out training to all staff as part of a $1 billion annual learning budget. The move follows a broad reorganization into “Reinvention Services,” new partnerships with OpenAI and Anthropic, and CEO Julie Sweet’s warning that employees who can’t adapt to AI may be exited. Accenture’s bet reflects a broader corporate push to hardwire AI into daily work, even as older, more senior staff are seen as slower adopters; the firm reported stronger-than-expected results in December on demand for AI-driven services.
