Geoffrey Hinton, known as the “Godfather of AI” and a Nobel laureate, predicts that artificial intelligence will soon replace many white-collar jobs, specifically those involving routine intellectual labor. In a recent interview, Hinton warned that fields such as paralegals and call center positions are at high risk of automation, with these jobs being performed by far fewer people aided by AI tools. He believes that while physical jobs like plumbing remain safer for now, the overall demand for entry-level and intellectual roles will decline as AI advances. Recent data also shows a marked drop in new graduate hires and layoffs in both tech and finance sectors linked to AI adoption.
