Amazon broadened its AI portfolio with a new wave of Nova models and services aimed at enterprises seeking reliable, cost-effective automation. The Nova 2 lineup spans Lite and Pro reasoning models with built-in web grounding and code execution; Sonic for real-time speech-to-speech; and Omni, a multimodal system that can process and generate across text, images, video, and speech. Amazon touted benchmark wins versus offerings from OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, and said Nova Act—an AWS service for browser-based task automation—achieves 90% reliability in early customer workflows. A new Nova Forge service lets companies blend proprietary data into “Novella” variants via an “open training” approach that exposes model checkpoints and supports reinforcement learning gyms and distillation. The strategy tightens the link between AWS infrastructure and AI workloads, positioning Bedrock as the deployment home for these customized models. Early adopters include Reddit, Booking.com, and Hertz, underscoring Amazon’s push to make agentic AI practical at scale while competing on performance, flexibility, and price.
