Apple is developing a clothing-worn AI “pin” with two cameras and three microphones, The Information reported. The aluminum-and-glass disc, described as roughly AirTag-sized but thicker, would include a physical button, speaker and a rear charging strip. Apple is reportedly accelerating work as OpenAI prepares to announce its first hardware device in the second half of the year, potentially earbuds, according to comments from an OpenAI executive and subsequent reporting. The Apple device could launch as early as 2027 with an initial run of about 20 million units, the report said. The category faces skepticism after Humane’s AI Pin stumbled; the startup shuttered and sold its assets to HP within two years of launch. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
