Figma said Tuesday it is partnering with Anthropic to launch “Code to Canvas,” a feature that transforms AI-generated code from tools like Claude Code into editable designs within Figma. The integration aims to tighten the handoff between agentic coding systems and product design teams by letting users import working interfaces, iterate side by side and align on decisions inside Figma. The bet comes as investors question whether rapidly improving AI agents could compress or sidestep traditional design workflows, a concern that has helped drive a broad selloff in software-as-a-service names. Shares of Figma have dropped about 85% from their 52-week high ahead of Wednesday’s earnings report, while software bellwethers such as Salesforce, ServiceNow and Intuit have also suffered double-digit declines and the iShares software ETF has slipped into bear-market territory.
