Ford is rolling out “Ford Pro AI,” an analytics system for its commercial-vehicle unit aimed at lifting productivity and squeezing downtime across fleets. Built on Google Cloud and initially launching in a prompted, read-only format, the tool parses more than a billion daily data points from connected vehicles to surface insights on safety, maintenance, routing and fuel use. The move advances CEO Jim Farley’s push to diversify Ford Pro’s revenue with software and services; the unit counted roughly 840,000 paid subscribers last year and posted $66 billion in revenue and $6.8 billion in earnings, a 10.3% margin. Ford says software and physical services within Pro are nearing a 20% earnings contribution target, underscoring the company’s bid to turn data and telematics into recurring profit streams.
