Google is extending its Gemini AI assistant to televisions running Google TV and Android TV OS, an addressable base the company says exceeds 300 million devices. The rollout starts on TCL’s QM9K series and will expand later this year to the Google TV Streamer, Walmart’s onn 4K Pro, and select 2025 Hisense and TCL models. Users will be able to ask conversational questions to find what to watch, recap prior seasons, or check reviews, as well as handle broader tasks like trip planning or homework help. Google says legacy Google Assistant voice commands will continue to function, with added capabilities arriving over time.
