The House approved the AI for Main Street Act in a 395-14 vote, directing the Small Business Administration and its Small Business Development Centers to deliver artificial-intelligence training and outreach to small firms. Authored by Rep. Mark Alford (R., Mo.), the measure relies on the SBA’s existing network—62 SBDC centers and roughly 900 service locations—and does not authorize new funding. Supporters say the bill aims to help entrepreneurs adopt AI securely and effectively amid rapid uptake by larger companies. The legislation now moves to the Senate.
