Artificial intelligence is transforming entry-level positions across industries, automating routine and repetitive tasks while fueling significant occupational changes. Rather than eliminating early-career jobs wholesale, AI is shifting responsibilities, leading employees to focus on curating AI outputs and applying greater judgment. Technical jobs, such as data analysis and IT, are both highly exposed to and rapidly adopting these tools, driving productivity but also requiring a rethinking of how new talent is developed and integrated. Research shows AI-exposed entry jobs face slightly steeper declines in demand, while roles resistant to automation like hospitality or manual labor remain in demand. With nearly half of surveyed executives expressing concern over diminished critical thinking as AI adoption rises, leaders are urged to invest in training, onboarding, and new talent pipelines to help early-career professionals adapt and thrive in this evolving landscape.
