Netflix agreed to acquire InterPositive, Ben Affleck’s AI-powered filmmaking-tools company, for undisclosed terms, adding technology that lets productions train proprietary models to handle tasks like wire removal, reframing and lighting tweaks. Affleck will join Netflix as a senior adviser, expanding a growing relationship that also includes a new multi-year pact with Artists Equity, his banner with Matt Damon. The companies stressed “human-centered” guardrails for AI amid industry sensitivities; the crew union IATSE declined to comment. The deal arrives shortly after Netflix withdrew from a pursuit of Warner Bros. Discovery, which later received a higher-valued offer from Paramount, underscoring shifting strategies in Hollywood’s consolidation and tech race.
