Hospitals in Northern Lincolnshire and Goole will pilot artificial-intelligence software to flag possible fractures and dislocations on X-rays, aiming to speed up care and reduce pressures on emergency departments. The two-year NHS England trial will add near-instant, AI-annotated images to patient records while clinicians retain final say on diagnoses. The trust said the system won’t be used for patients under two or for chest, spine, skull, facial or soft-tissue imaging. Leaders say similar deployments in northern Europe have helped meet demand, and the U.K. trial will test whether those gains translate locally.
