Nvidia shares climbed more than 10% for the week as worries over the durability of the artificial-intelligence chip boom eased and sentiment across semiconductors improved. The PHLX Semiconductor Sector index advanced more than 8% over five sessions, reversing the prior week’s slide tied to valuation concerns. Nvidia drew additional support after Elon Musk said SpaceX would build terrestrial and orbital data centers using the company’s chips, including Vera Rubin–based NVL72 racks. The optimism came despite a report that Nvidia may pare back high-bandwidth memory in its forthcoming Rubin Ultra processors amid a global HBM shortage. Rival AMD slipped after quarterly results failed to clear high investor expectations but still finished the week modestly higher; over the past year, AMD shares have surged 180% versus Nvidia’s 28%.
