Pinterest plans to cut up to about 15% of its workforce and shrink office space as it reallocates resources to artificial-intelligence initiatives, the company said in a Tuesday regulatory filing. The San Francisco-based social-commerce platform, which has 4,666 employees per FactSet, expects to complete the restructuring by Sept. 30, 2026, and record pre-tax charges of $35 million to $45 million. The overhaul will fund AI-focused hiring, product development and sales acceleration. Pinterest joins other companies citing automation and advanced technology in recent job cuts; Nike this week said it would eliminate roughly 775 roles. A Pinterest spokesperson called the move part of an “AI-forward strategy.”
