Police in Northern Ireland have launched an investigation into reports that students at the Royal School Armagh circulated AI-generated explicit images. The coeducational boarding school, which enrolls roughly 800 pupils up to age 18, notified authorities as soon as it became aware of the alleged activity, its principal said, adding the school is following guidance from educational and statutory bodies. The Police Service of Northern Ireland said officers are engaging with school officials and parents of affected pupils. The case underscores growing concerns over the use of synthetic media to bully or exploit minors as governments and platforms consider tighter rules on deepfakes and image-based abuse.
