SpaceX will provide Anthropic access to its Colossus 1 AI data center in Memphis, a facility housing more than 220,000 Nvidia processors, to expand capacity for Anthropic’s Claude Pro and Max services and lift subscriber usage limits. The arrangement gives Elon Musk’s IPO-bound company a flagship AI customer while helping Anthropic alleviate compute bottlenecks amid rising demand, including for its coding tool, Claude Code. The companies are also exploring multi-gigawatt space-based data centers, a capital-intensive initiative tied to SpaceX’s public-listing pitch. Announced alongside Anthropic’s developer day in San Francisco, the company introduced a “dreaming” feature designed to let agentic software self-improve between sessions and broadened tools for delegating tasks to specialist agents, moves aimed at enterprise buyers as AI reshapes software markets.
