The Trump administration launched a “U.S. Tech Force,” a two-year program to recruit roughly 1,000 engineers and specialists to build AI infrastructure and modernize digital services across federal agencies. Participants will report directly to agency leaders and work alongside private-sector partners including AWS, Apple, Google Public Sector, Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, Oracle, Palantir and Salesforce. Salaries are expected to range from $150,000 to $200,000, with pathways into partner companies after completion. The push follows a recent executive order outlining a national AI policy and underscores Washington’s bid to bolster U.S. capabilities as competition with China intensifies.
