SambaNova Systems raised $1 billion at an $11 billion valuation in a first close of its Series F round led by General Atlantic, with additional investors expected to join in coming weeks. The Palo Alto-based AI chip maker, which unveiled its next-gen SN50 in February alongside a $350 million Series E, is deepening ties with Intel—a longtime backer and participant in the new round—through a multi-year co-development and go-to-market partnership centered on Intel’s Xeon platform. SambaNova also landed JPMorgan Chase as an on-premises inference partner, positioning its SN40L and SN50 systems to power secure, private AI workloads—part of a broader push among banks, enterprises and governments to diversify beyond public cloud. CEO Rodrigo Liang said the company is keeping strategic options open, including a potential IPO, and will use proceeds to scale operations and lock in component supply amid rising demand. Customers include SoftBank, Saudi Aramco, Intel and Japanese firms; backers in the round span Seligman Ventures, T. Rowe Price, Capital Group, BlackRock, QIA, Vista Equity Partners, Battery Ventures and others.
