Beyond GPUs: Nvidia’s Next AI Profit Engine May Be Even Larger

Wall Street is eyeing a new growth leg for Nvidia beyond its dominant AI GPUs. Wedbush Securities says the company’s Vera CPU—pitched for AI and agentic workloads—could expand Nvidia’s addressable market into server processors and full-stack AI platforms, capturing spend that has long flowed to Intel and AMD. While NVDA shares have cooled after last year’s surge amid China export limits, rising competition and profit-taking, Nvidia continues to top revenue and earnings forecasts, with management citing roughly 1.8x performance versus comparable x86 CPUs for Vera when paired with its accelerators. Early interest from cloud customers, including in geographies allowed under U.S. rules, could provide another revenue engine on top of GPUs. Analysts argue the recent stock pause reflects elevated expectations more than deteriorating fundamentals.
