Nvidia Shares Gain 2.5% as Wall Street Alliance Targets $500 Billion for AI Buildout

Nvidia shares rose about 2.5% after the chipmaker said it is partnering with major financial firms—including Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs and KKR—on financing platforms aimed at mobilizing more than $500 billion for AI infrastructure. The arrangements, currently memorandums of understanding rather than committed funds, are designed to ease the capital burden of building data centers and AI compute clusters, potentially broadening Nvidia’s customer base for chips, networking gear and software. The initiative underscores both the scale of demand for AI capacity and the cost constraints facing developers and enterprises. Nvidia’s fundamentals remain strong, with high marks for profitability and growth, though valuation remains stretched. Investors will look to the company’s Aug. 26 fiscal second-quarter results for signs the proposed funding can translate into tangible infrastructure projects and sustained sales growth.
