DOJ orders staff to use Trump’s “super intelligence” label for AI, including in filings

The Justice Department has been directed to adopt President Donald Trump’s preferred term for artificial intelligence—“super intelligence,” or “SI”—according to a memo described by people familiar with the matter. The guidance, titled “Super Intelligence,” instructs department employees to use the rebranded terminology and extend it to court filings when appropriate. The move signals the administration’s effort to imprint its own language on federal technology policy and legal communications as AI issues increasingly intersect with law enforcement and regulatory activity. The directive could influence how the government frames emerging tech in litigation and interagency coordination.
