Scale AI is set to promote Chief Strategy Officer Jason Droege to CEO as founder Alexandr Wang departs to lead a new AI research lab at Meta. This transition follows Meta’s impending $14 billion investment in Scale AI, which will give Meta a 49% stake in the startup. Wang, along with some colleagues, will join Meta’s new research initiative, as the social media giant intensifies its focus on artificial intelligence. Droege, who joined Scale AI in August 2024, previously held senior roles at Uber and Benchmark. Scale AI has built its reputation by providing data for training AI models at leading tech firms. The move comes amid Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s efforts to accelerate the company’s AI ambitions.
