Amazon is advancing its use of artificial intelligence by developing AI models to help its robots, such as Proteus, understand and act on natural language commands. These models are designed by a new agentic AI team within Amazon’s Lab126 and aim to enable robots to reason and operate autonomously. In addition to robotics, Amazon is launching generative AI initiatives to enhance last-mile delivery experiences and optimize supply chain logistics, processing massive volumes of inventory data for better forecasting. AI-powered mapping is being used to tackle delivery challenges in complex locations, while AI also helps predict product demand. Recent Amazon AI initiatives include an AI-enabled web browsing agent, alliances for generative AI deployment, and tools to enhance digital advertising content.
