After both losing their jobs, Brooke Ferrier and her husband in New South Wales turned to artificial intelligence to create affordable meal plans for their family of four. By using tools like ChatGPT for customized shopping lists and recipes, the Ferriers have cut their grocery bill by more than half, reduced food waste, and found an easier approach to healthy eating. Food scientist Emma Beckett supports using AI for meal planning, provided that nutritional balance is considered. Even after regaining employment, the Ferriers plan to continue using AI to manage their household expenses and maintain their improved habits.
