A new United Nations International Labour Organization report reveals that jobs traditionally held by women are more susceptible to transformation by artificial intelligence than those held by men, especially in high-income nations. The study found 9.6% of female-dominated roles are likely to be changed versus 3.5% of male-dominated ones, mainly due to AI’s impact on administrative and clerical work. While the report notes that many jobs will require ongoing human involvement and will be altered rather than eliminated, it stresses the need for governments, employers, and workers to proactively manage the adoption of AI to support job quality and productivity improvements.
