On May 14, 2025, China launched 12 satellites as the first step in creating a massive, 2,800-satellite network dedicated to artificial intelligence-powered space computing. The project, called the Three-Body Computing Constellation, is led by startup ADA Space in cooperation with Zhejiang Lab. This marks a major development in China’s ambitions for space-based computation, potentially offering powerful new capabilities for processing data and supporting AI technologies from orbit.
