The President of the UAE and the US attended the unveiling of Phase 1 of a groundbreaking 5-gigawatt (GW) artificial intelligence campus in Abu Dhabi—the largest such facility outside the United States. The project, led by UAE-based G42 with American partners, is a major step in expanding AI infrastructure and cooperation between the two countries under the new “US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership.” The campus will support US tech giants (“hyperscalers”) in delivering low-latency services to the Global South, leveraging clean energy sources for sustainability, and creating a science park to spur AI innovation. The UAE government highlighted its commitment to robust controls on technology access and global leadership in AI-driven sectors, while US officials emphasized the project’s strategic importance and security guarantees.
