Perplexity AI has partnered with Motorola to integrate its artificial intelligence search engine technology directly into Motorola smartphones. This distribution-focused partnership brings Perplexity’s AI-powered answer engine to Motorola’s devices as part of the Moto AI suite, making Motorola the first smartphone brand to include this technology natively. The collaboration aims to grow Perplexity’s user base and offer Motorola customers new features, such as a three-month free trial of Perplexity Pro and its Deep Research tool. This move follows industry trends, including OpenAI and Apple’s Siri-ChatGPT integration, and comes amid growing investor interest in AI-powered search as it challenges traditional search engines like Google. Perplexity, now valued at around $9 billion, is seeking further funding and aims to capitalize on the ubiquity of smartphones to increase everyday AI usage.
