Pittsburgh is set to further burnish its reputation as a technology powerhouse by hosting the AI Horizons 2025 summit this September, an event touted as a cornerstone for the region’s burgeoning artificial intelligence sector. The summit, headlined by Governor Josh Shapiro and Senator Dave McCormick, will shine a light on advances in robotics, embedded AI, and autonomous systems. The event kicks off with a startup competition offering over $100,000 in prizes, underscoring the region’s commitment to innovation and investment. Backed by bipartisan leadership and industry participation from executives at companies like Gecko Robotics and Skild AI, the summit aims to cement Pittsburgh as a leader in what organizers call “Physical AI”—blending the city’s industrial legacy with digital transformation.
