Google’s Fitbit unit is launching a public preview of an AI-driven personal health coach for eligible U.S. Premium subscribers on Android, with iOS support coming soon. Built on Gemini and pitched as a fitness trainer, sleep coach and wellness advisor, the service generates personalized plans, on-the-fly workouts and data-driven insights, and adapts to user feedback and constraints. Fitbit says the tool is grounded in science and privacy-minded, and will iterate based on user input during the preview. The initiative underscores Google’s push to embed generative AI across consumer health features as wearables compete increasingly on coaching and insights rather than hardware alone.
