Meta signed multiple content-licensing agreements with prominent news outlets including USA Today, People, CNN, Fox News, The Daily Caller, Washington Examiner and France’s Le Monde, enabling its AI assistant to surface real-time news links and updates. The deals, whose financial terms weren’t disclosed, are part of the company’s push to draw more users to its AI services amid intensifying competition for high-quality training and response data. Meta said the partnerships will diversify sources it surfaces for news-related queries and hinted at additional deals and features ahead. The company is racing to regain momentum after tepid reception for its Llama 4 model, even as it pours billions into AI and reportedly trims metaverse spending.
