Contrary to dire projections from Elon Musk and Bill Gates, LinkedIn says AI adoption is coinciding with stronger hiring, not a collapse in jobs. Sue Duke, LinkedIn’s EMEA managing director, told the Fortune CEO Forum in London that companies integrating AI are expanding teams—especially in business development, sales, and tech-savvy roles—to capitalize on new growth opportunities. Employers are chasing two buckets of capabilities: hot demand for AI literacy and tooling, alongside durable “human” skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Above all, Duke said, adaptability and a growth mindset are now top hiring priorities as tools evolve faster than job titles—offering a brighter near-term outlook for Gen Z job seekers than many forecasts suggest.
