Google unveiled a sweeping slate of AI upgrades as it capped November, headlined by the release of Gemini 3 and a $40 billion investment in Texas to expand AI and cloud infrastructure. The new model, positioned as Google’s most capable multimodal system to date, is embedded across products—from Search’s AI Mode to hands-free, conversational navigation in Maps and new capabilities in Android Auto. Developers get an agent-focused platform, Antigravity, while creators gain Nano Banana Pro for higher-fidelity image generation. The company also advanced research efforts with the SIMA 2 agent and WeatherNext 2 forecasting, and revisited AlphaFold’s continuing scientific impact. Consumer features expanded with AI-driven travel planning and shopping, including agents that check inventory and execute purchases when prices drop. Google paired its product push with $30 million for AI learning initiatives and workforce programs aimed at training skilled labor for data center growth, signaling an aggressive bid to scale AI services while underlining economic and educational commitments.
