Firebird, an emerging AI cloud provider, opened what it says is the CIS region’s largest AI “factory” in Armenia, underscoring how countries are racing to build domestic computing capacity for artificial intelligence. The Hrazdan facility—delivered in just over six months—runs on NVIDIA accelerated computing and Dell PowerEdge servers, with power systems from Schneider Electric and cooling from Vertiv.
Backed by a planned deployment of more than 70,000 NVIDIA Blackwell and Rubin GPUs and 300 megawatts of capacity in Armenia by 2027, Firebird aims to serve local developers, enterprises and public institutions while courting global AI tenants. The company outlined a roughly 2-gigawatt roadmap spanning Armenia, Kazakhstan and other frontier markets, and said NVIDIA intends to invest, following an earlier stake from CoreWeave.
Officials from Armenia, Kazakhstan and the U.S. attended the opening. Firebird says its NVIDIA DSX-based design allows denser GPU utilization and improved economics, positioning the site as a regional magnet for AI workloads, including early demand from Perplexity.
